When the school year begins, staff members are excited with the newness of the yearbook and are eager to work and put forth their best effort. As the year progresses, sometimes their excitement can wane. What are some of the ways you help keep your staff motivated throughout the entire year?
One of our traditions to help keep the excitement was to throw a "party" after every yearbook deadline. I always tried to have staff lead the party, from planning, bringing in whatever they decided for the party (food, decorations, games) and then executing it on party day. Most of the time staff are excited by a "party" and will take the lead. Sometimes, I needed to help facilitate to get the process rolling.
