I am really shocked at all the different stimulus packages that have been put in place to help our economy. It is weird to be living in Moorhead and see very little side effects. The only thing that I have done differently is that I get Starbucks less, but then again that may be due to the distance to the nearest one is like a 100 miles from Fosston. That is where I am interning. Well, I just thought I would throw something out there and see if the pot could be stirred.
The effects of the U.S. weakening economy have been felt far greater in other places than in the Fargo, ND region. This area has been experiencing an economic boom for several years and has been somewhat sheltered from the hardships others are facing around the country. I know many are skeptical of the various stimulus packages and bailouts our government has been implementing. I will admit that it is difficult for me to understand when we are dealing with such large numbers. However, one thing that I feel good about is seeing our government trying it's best to make things better. I hope the economic experts and government officials get things right and the economy starts rolling again. On the other hand, some would say government can only make things worse.
